Two amazing weddings!

I just got back tonight from Edmonton, where I was photographing Monica ([info]strange) and Brenton's wedding. The cold, rainy, muddy conditions were unable to put a damper on the celebrations out west! But more on that later.

Today's feature wedding couple is Uyen and Justin, married on August 5 2006 in Hollywood style at the reborn Eglinton Grand. We started with an engagement session in June in downtown Toronto, capturing their modern, urban lifestyle. The streets and alleys and landmarks of the city are some of my favourite backdrops for a photo shoot!

U and J's ride... some day!

We were granted a bright, warm, sunny summer day in August for the wedding. We started off the morning at the chic SoHo Metropolitan in downtown Toronto, where the fine folks at Salon Daniel responded to a bridal hair emergency and saved the day! Then it was off to Victoria College at the University of Toronto for photos with the wedding party and parents, then whisked off again by limo up to the Eglinton Grand event theatre. Two ceremonies were held there, complete with clothing changes for both U and J. The first was a western-style ceremony, while the second treated the guests to a traditional Asian tea ceremony with both sides of the family participating. After the obligatory photos with family and friends, the couple made their grand entrance into the spectacular art deco styled ballroom. Dinner and dancing continued late into the night, ending with a quick getaway amidst a shower of sparklers.

Thumbs up on the wedding... now off to Hawaii for the honeymoon!

Another fantastic wedding took place this past weekend in Fort Edmonton Park. M and B tied the knot with a native blessing while family and close friends looked on. I'll have much more to show in the coming weeks, but for now, here are a couple of teasers:

Yep. I wholeheartedly second that opinion. Awesome ride... That orange Lambo is just fantastic on the eyes!

Hmmm, these are really good.
They look more like fashion pictures. {so to speak..}
They will be very happy with these.
Great use of photoshop also.

Yes, it's nice having another travelling companion, at least for the trip back east! As it turns out, I just missed one of the buses back downtown, so I had to wait almost 30 minutes for the next one anyway. I was so-o-o-o tired!!!

Yeah, I wimped out for that second trip. I started the file copy process for all the wedding photos first, then I hopped in a cab, went over to pick up the DVDs, hopped back into the same cab and came home. Less than 20 minutes round trip vs. about an hour by streetcar... I didn't care how much more it cost at that point. ;-)

Hey, Sid! Monica mentioned you and TDFD and told everyone the story about her mother's wedding dress, at which point [info]sali_mali started bawling. *teehee* You did a great job on the dresses! It was really icky outside all weekend, but I think I was still able to get some decent shots of Monica and the girls for you.
